I’m Susan Tatem—founder of Bright Path 4 Autism, autism advocate, autism coach, international bestselling author, speaker, YouTuber, and host of my own TV show, Puzzled Parents. Most importantly, I’m a mom to an incredible daughter with autism who continues to inspire my life’s work.
At Bright Path 4 Autism, I transform parents of children with autism (ages 12 and up) who feel overwhelmed, uncertain about the future, and isolated into clear, confident, and supported. Too often, families are left asking, “What happens after high school?” or “What will happen to my child if something happens to me” My mission is to help you create a clear, step-by-step plan so your child can grow into an independent, thriving, and fulfilled adult.
With nearly 30 years of experience as a physical therapist assistant and the lived experience of raising my daughter as a single mom, I understand the emotional and practical challenges families face. I transform parents from a place of fear and uncertainty into one of peace, confidence, and direction—equipped with a roadmap for adulthood.
In addition to one-on-one coaching, I host VIP classes, speak at events, write for autism-focused publications such as Autism Parenting Magazine, and host Puzzled Parents, a heartfelt talk show that shares real stories from families, caregivers, and professionals navigating the special needs journey. This airs on FENIX TV. My YouTube channel, Puzzled Parents Unlocked, airs my show episodes as well as posts and updates on events.
Moreover, I’ve been featured as an author in multiple anthology books including The Heart of a Mother—a deeply personal story of faith, resilience, and purpose.
Last but not least, I am the Managing Partner for the She Wins Women’s Network Tidewater Chapter. We help women entrepreneurs network and grow in a positive, supportive environment where your win is my win and visa versa. We all rise together.
